Bennington Community Center (Recreation Center)
The recreation center includes an indoor pool, fitness room, locker rooms, showers, and saunas. There are also outdoor tennis courts, a handball court, and a small playground suitable for k-5 ages. Showers are available at a cost of $2 for hikers and travelers. Membership or a day use fee is required for use of the other facilities. Numerous programs for all ages are offered year round including during many school vacations and during the summer. Pool and Fitness schedules are below.

The Bennington Recreation Center is is a municipally funded facility that relies on the members for supplemental support.

Birthday Parties at the Recreation Center
To make sure your day runs smooth, the Y is here for you. Here's all you need to know before your big day!
Help us keep everyone safe. All party goers must complete our Waiver of Liability. (no need to print - they get sent directly to us)
Party times:
Saturday Parties: Party Room (downstairs) 2-4 PM & Swimming 4-5 PM
Please note: Facility closes 15 minutes after end of swim-time to allow for changing. If your group may require longer, please exit pool early to ensure timely departure.
- Hosts can arrive early to set up space.
- Tables, chairs and Locker room access provided.
- No more than 20 swimming guests allowed.
- Small space in fridge/freezer available if needed.
- Clean up all trash, decorations, food, debris. Extra garbage bags and cleaning materials provided if needed. $25 cash or check cleaning deposit held until departure and returned when room inspection cleared by BFYMCA staff during swim time.

Please note some of our commonly asked questions about POOL POLICIES. Any additional questions, please ask the lifeguard on duty!
- All swimming guests with hair longer than chin-length must wear swim caps.
- All youth are required to pass a swim test to use deep end.
- Life jackets must be coast-guard approved and should be brought with you as our supply to borrow is limited.
- At least one adult must be in the water per 10 children swimming.
- Street shoes must be removed before entering pool deck.
- All swimmers must shower before using pool.
- No food allowed on pool deck.
Outdoor Recreational Opportunities
Bennington and the surrounding area offer a plethora of opportunities for outdoor adventures. State parks, mountain lakes, swimming holes, and hikes for all ages and abilities abound. Bennington is nestled into the southwest corner of the Green Mountains and is a favorite stopping point along the Appalachian and Long Trails. For the casual walker there is no shortage of beautiful scenic walks with pastoral views and historic sites.
