The first records for the town of Bennington were created in 1762 at the first town meeting of the new settlers, one year after their arrival in 1761. Now conserved in “Book A-1” those earliest records can be viewed by visiting the vaults at the Town Clerks office. Book A-1 has also been digitized and is available by clicking here.

What are Green Mountain Passports?
Bennington residents aged 62 years or older may apply for a Green Mountain Passport that provides free entry to Vermont State Parks. There is a brief application. There is a suggested $2 fee which we DO NOT charge.
