The role of the Town Communications Coordinator is first and foremost to share information about the activities the town is doing on behalf of our community. This includes using all available media channels to get information out to the public, as well as fulfilling any public records requests. Responsibilities include managing the Town's website, assisting in social media, assisting in development of town communications policy, creating press releases, and developing graphics, signage, and materials as needed.

Our current coordinator is Jonah Spivak. Jonah comes from the private sector with over 30 years of experience in communication, marketing, website development, graphics, and consulting. He has a long history of volunteerism and community involvement including over 15 years service on the Chamber of Commerce board including service as president, 6 years service on the Better Bennington Corporation Board including service as president, and 15 years service on the Shires of Vermont DMO Board including service as president. Current involvement includes 10+ years service on the board of the Green Mountain Community Network and working with the Bennington 250th Anniversary Committee. Jonah has also been appointed by the Governor of Vermont to serve as a commissioner for the State 250th Anniversary Commission and he also sits on the Federal and Regional 250th committees as well.
